Now the bits we need to work out

I'll try a bit closer......

And the other side.....

Here's your starter for 10 !!!!!!...............Have fun
Some better pictures...!!!!!

I read this as.... UNKAI ............ MITSUNAO TSUKURU.............but then I might be wrong !!!............The character after MITSU is slightly subjective.
Now we are getting there .....Nice nice input guys!!!
Trevor....First blood to you Sir..!!!!...Unkai .....MITSU HISA SAKU
Ron San...It is my thought that the full signature reads " MITSU NAO TSUKURU" also
Nice call from the newbie ...!!!
Hitori...Don't be shy great answer, but it looks like you are sitting on the fence somewhat.
You have translated one character as SAKU could you elaborate on this...please as can be a little confusing for people as both SAKU and TSUKURU are correct.
So then MITSUNAO or MITSUHISA ?
I read this as.... UNKAI ............ MITSUNAO TSUKURU.............but then I might be wrong !!!............The character after MITSU is slightly subjective.
Ron San ...You say "The character after MITSU is slightly subjective"..can you elaborate on that please as I feel there is an important distinction between the two
Good stuff !!!!
Ron San
Both MITSU NAO and MITSU HISA can be read into this. You seem very firm with your asumption that it is MITSU NAO ?... I too think MITSU NAO but I am keen to know how you came across the same assumption. ..?
Please forgive the pressing questions but you have made your debut postings on possably the trickiest of subjects ...Newbie to the forum I have no doubt but to the subject ......forgive me I think not..!!
With all the respect due to the mind behind the answers you have given.....Who are you...???
That cleared that one up nicely... thank you Ron San....
.....doubtless they were glorious days indeed !!!
That aside how did you arrive at MITSU NAO ..?

He was a famous sword smith wasn't he...?? Renown for his work in plastic bottles & selotape.....Part of the Blue Peter school I believe..!!
...I could be wrong I usually am..!!!!
